A play based on the true story of the survivors of unimaginable domestic violence. What if he tried to steal everything from you, even your name?

On July 29,2007 on a lonely winding road in rural southern Monterey County, with the help of two earthly angels,  Annie finally made her escape from the man who had horrendously abused her for 19 years and who had taken her pride, her sense of self, her soul and even her name.   Still, it took almost two years before she and her daughters were able to begin their recovery and to attempt to even conceive of ever feeling safe again. How could this continuous and escalating abuse have gone on; the terrible results of which were in plain sight to many people?    This is the inspiring story of overcoming horrific domestic abuse, the search for justice and ultimately, triumph over unspeakable adversity, written by the cop who investigated the case, and told through the voices of 17 women who were deeply involved. The play was written with the full cooperation of Annie and her daughters Danielle and Belynda who contributed writing used in the play.

The playwright David Norum is a long time resident of the central coast.
